What is CAVAS?
CAVAS is a community organization that offers free, confidential assistance and support services to anyone (women, men, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with an immigrant background, etc.) aged 12 and over who has been a victim of sexual violence (recent or past), as well as to their loved ones.
The CAVAS offices are located in Saint-Hyacinthe and Sorel.
At CAVAS, anyone affected by sexual violence is:

Acknowledged

What is sexual violence?
Sexually abusing or assaulting someone means imposing sexual attitudes, words or gestures on them against their will and without their consent. The perpetrator of sexual violence may use emotional manipulation, material manipulation (money, gifts, favours, etc.), intimidation, threats, blackmail and verbal, physical or psychological violence.
